Just want to point something out to everyone….it might seen obvious but…maybe not….
Hebrews 1:1 “In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.”
So, prior to Jesus coming, God spoke to us through the prophets. So, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Habakkuk, etc….
But now, Godspeaks to us through Jesus. This jives with what we looked at before.:
Hebrews 3:1 “Therefore, holy brothers, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest whom we confess.”
Jesus is the Apostle of our faith. The apostles brought the word of God to us. So when the writer of Hebrews says that God speaks to us today through the words of Jesus, he is saying that Jesus is our Apostle.
