Pressure Free Writing

Sometimes its REALLY great to just sit down and write something that is 100% pressure free.

To not be “going for” anything.

To not have any specific destination in mind.

To not have to scrap a melody because you don’t think its singable enough.

To get WAY WAY out of the pentatonic box.

And to get WAY WAY out of the 4/4 time signature.

It’s refreshing to have a musical idea and just go “Hmm….well I dig that so…lets do it.”

I have been on this kick for about a week now. And I have written more songs in the last week than I have in a year.
