Honestly this past Sunday was amazing.
At Visio Dei we are really really big on spiritual gifts. The Holy Spirit has given each of gifts that we are to use to build up the church and to build God’s kingdom. Teaching is one of those gifts. So on occasion someone other than Jeff will teach.
This past Sunday, Shannon Smith, on of the elders at Visio Dei, spoke from the second chapter of Philippians on what it means to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. He spent some time talking about the difference between justification and sanctification and then moved on to challenge us to be obedient to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. It is God that moves in us to change us.
My prayer is that each of us at Visio Dei would first seek to hear the Holy Spirit in our lives and second, would be obedient when we do hear him.
