So on September 9th, Visio Dei is having a night of worship.
“But Patrick, what exactly is a night of worship?”
Good question. Here is the idea.
Lots of times we (at Visio Dei) only come together as a whole church on Sunday mornings. I don’t think that’s abnormal for a church and, for the most part, I don’t think it’s a bad thing. Sunday mornings are traditionally the day of the week when “the church” gathers and I think that’s OK.
That said, I really wish there were more times when we got together outside of that. To talk, to share, to learn, to sing, to worship….
So, along those lines, I am very excited about the night of worship that we are planning for September 9th. If you go to Visio Dei I really really hope that you will plan on coming.
The plan is not just to sing a few songs and then go home.
The plan is to gather as a church and to make much of God and to make much of what He has done for us.
To read the scriptures together. To respond to God in song and in prayer….. maybe even in silence.
To worship our God together. As a group. As a community. As a people.
To encourage one another and to support one another and to build each other up.
I plan on getting more into some specifics of the night in some upcoming blog posts. But I just wanted to let you guys know about the night and say that I really hope that if you call Visio Dei your “church” then I really hope you will plan on being there.
I am very excited about it and I hope that you will be too.
