Who is the last person you would ever think would be saved? And why??
Is that person too smart? Too bad? Too far from God? Too good so they don’t think they need God?
Saul, who later became Paul, was that person. Before his conversion, he was too good. He didn’t think he needed Jesus or grace. He was earning his salvation. After his conversion, he was the “chief of sinners” and knew more than anyone just how much grace he needed.
While Saul’s conversion on the Road to Damascus is possibly the most dramatic individual turnaround in the history of Christianity, it reveals much about how God still works each day to change hearts and lives. How is God at work in your heart, and are you responding in a way that will lead to life-change?
