Sunday – 5.27.12

There were times in Paul’s life where he was tired; and worn out; and beaten down; and afraid; he “despaired of life itself.” Pauls time in Corinth, recorded in Acts 18, was one of those times. It was during the time that God came to him and restored him. God said something very interesting to Paul:

And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, “Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people.” (Acts 18:9-10 ESV)

I think the point here is really this – God is in charge. He has ordained everything. He was with Paul and comforted him. And in so many words, if God was for him then who could be against him?
